Lathouris Law PLLC was formed by Kostan R. Lathouris, an enrolled member of the Chemehuevi Indian Tribe. Kostan grew up within his Tribe’s ancestral homelands—in Las Vegas, Nevada—and has regularly traveled, all his life, to the Chemehuevi Indian Reservation in Havasu Lake, California. One of the most important people in Kostan’s life was his grandmother, who would often take Kostan with her to the Reservation for Tribal Council meetings and to serve on different boards, commissions, and committees. From a young age, Kostan’s grandmother taught him the importance of being actively involved in their Tribe and serving the best interests of Indian country.

Believing that Indian country should be represented by Indian country, Kostan went to law school to study federal Indian and tribal law. He formed Lathouris Law in 2015, which serves the legal needs of multiple tribes by helping develop tribal law and policy; providing legal research and drafting regarding federal Indian and tribal law issues, including opinions, motions, briefs, reports, resolutions, and ordinances; representing tribal interests in federal consultation, state negotiation, and federal and tribal court litigation; and providing tribal judicial services.
